Today's all new episode tackles common questions and challenges faced by newcomers to selling on Amazon, specifically around restrictions and approved categories. It begins by addressing the concerns of many new sellers who find themselves confused by the limitations placed on what they can sell, noting that initial approval typically includes categories like Home and Kitchen, Arts and Crafts, Office Products, and Pet Supplies (excluding pet food).
Even with all the initial restrictions that Amazon has though, there are a significant number of available ASINs (products) in these approved categories that total over 50,000 products—that meet specific criteria such as having some past or current FBA offers, being non-hazmat, having no Amazon sales in the past 30 days and experiencing at least 30 or so sales rank drops in the past month.
Further, the episode provides strategic advice on how to expand your list of potential ASINs by selecting trustworthy sources.

My question is how do I do replens? I've always done replens and home goods products which sell very well but I have to get my income up more.

Let's talk about what a replen is real quick.
The difference between where you are now and having a business where you pay someone to put tape on boxes which is $12 $15 an hour work, you need to be spending time perfecting your Keepa skills.
You really got to dive into replens, find test worthy asins and build your book of ASINs

We can teach you the SYSTEM, but there are lessons to learn and opportunity comes with a steady ongoing learning curve.
This new podcast episode discusses the opportunities and complexities of finding profitable Amazon products (aka Amazon Standard Identification Numbers or ASINs).
We address the common misconception that there's a simple magic formula for success in selecting "winning profitable" ASINs. There just isn't!
The discussion emphasizes the importance of matching any ASIN you find with a reputable source, avoiding third-party sellers, ensuring brand accuracy, and verifying listing details. It further highlights that testing is crucial for gaining experience, understanding inventory placement, improving account health, receiving seller feedback, and uncovering profit opportunities.
Once you have these habits, you will be an ASIN hunting NINJA, but until then, you're taking unnecessary risks and cutting your success short!
The episode advises testing safely by choosing fast-moving items, protecting capital, and being open to testing rather than finding reasons not to. It concludes that there's no universal formula for testing or replenishing ASINs, stressing that experience and inventory control, even with a small number of units, are key to making informed decisions.

We’ve identified 10 reasons why especially new Amazon sellers (or sellers who are struggling) on Amazon should find as many ASINs (new products) to test as possible and they should do it as soon as possible in order to make their odds of success as great as possible.
While this may seem obvious, we’ve observed that many sellers try to find a handful of magic products that will boost them into the business they desire. Rarely is that what happens however. On today’s episode, we dive into the reasons you should find numerous products to test as well as some strategies for doing exactly that.
Here are 10 Reasons you should build a strong foundation as quickly as possible
1. Hard to find averages when going ASIN by ASIN
Book of biz leads to Averages leads to predictability.
Increasing profits and decreasing expenses is much more impactful on a book of business than on a few ASINs.
2. Diversity
A solid foundation allows for branching out while maintaining revenues.
There are so many different categories and subs that we will never run out of new areas to source in.
3. IPI Score
A foundational book of business helps you understand the metrics that make up the IPI Score
Helps keep level inventory numbers.
4. Anything can happen to any ASIN
When you have only a few ASINs, anything that happens to any ASIN can really hurt.
When there are more ASINs, the overall impact is smaller.
5 Keeps risk low
Spreading your risk over many different listings can make the risk of losing all much lower and the chances of profiting overall much higher.
6. Easier to outsource
Putting together a foundational book of business makes it much easier to compile standard operating procedures and best practices.
When you outsource, it is much easier to hand that off.
7. Economies of Scale
AKA Critical Mass
Helps with inbound transportation, purchasing supplies, paying contractors, justifying expenses and subscriptions
8. Account Health Rating
New sellers all start with a score of 200 and anything less than 200 is
Any policy adherence issues deduct points from your score.
Increase score by 4 points for every 200 successful sales in a rolling 180-day period.
Riskiest time is when trying to build that first 200 sales so get it done as quickly as possible.
9. Lifting of restrictions
How many stories have we heard about sellers who had things ungated and they didn’t even know? They were just open one day. This is what happens when you focus on working with what you have available to you.
10. Make more money!
Isn’t this why we’re all here?

In today's weekend episode we have highlights of a prior show. In this segment we discuss both the upcoming Proven Conference and our Lego selling training program. We also include the benefits of selling toys online.
Greg spoke at the 2023 virtual conference and will be speaking live at the May 23-25, 2024 Proven Amazon Conference in Orlando! 2011-2012 started Greg’s e-commerce journey when he needed to get money together for a house down payment! The 2014 Frozen movie really ramped up his eBay business before he then transitioned to selling those items on Amazon. And the rest is history!
Jim talks about how there are so many ways to make money online but focuses specifically on Lego sales with this guest! They also discuss the new course called provenbrickinvesting.com! This course is geared for new sellers who have never sold Legos before - focusing on the terminology used, patterns or themes to look for, life cycles and retiring sets, where to buy them, how to store them, etc. “Dollar density” is a phrase that is used to describe the approach the guest takes

While we really love to see business building warriors diving head first into self education, when it comes to selling on Amazon there are several very common mistakes you're likely to make if you try to go it alone and learn it all yourself.
On today's episode I cover the top mistakes sellers make in regards to going too big too fast, thinking too small or creating a hamster wheel business model, or simply pursuing ideas that cause you to ultimately lose in the end in spite of the hype.
We talk about dropshipping, selling liquidations on Amazon, scanning barcodes and selling books as well as the hot trend of "done for you" models and using "overhyped tools"!

Jim talks about how important relationships are in this business and how it can be very lonely without them! The guest recommends a book called Fire Yourself First by Jeff Russell. Jim also recommends Business Secrets from the Bible by Rabbi Daniel Lapin, who will be the keynote speaker at this year's Proven Amazon Conference! As far as a recession goes, Jim’s advice is to not participate!!
In May at the Proven Amazon Conference, Coaches Brian and Robin Joy are doing a workshop called 100 ASINs. They teach the 3 step check, 4 week test, to build a 5 figure business in 6 months if you are consistent! www.provenamazoncourse.com/100
Jim has suggestions and a word of warning for a newer seller in terms of utilizing a VA. Jim and Coach Robin Joy also give some guidelines for listing bundles: do not set up new listings if you are a newer seller - too many risks involved. www.provenbrandedbundles.com for a specific course on bundles and how to do it correctly!
New sellers often ask how to find profitable products but rather the question should be how to find “test worthy ASINs" or “underserved shelf space at Amazon!!” Jim has posted many examples on the My Silent Team Facebook page demonstrating exactly how this works! Not all of our ProvenAmazonCourse.com students go on to build beautiful businesses.
